EASY SAMBHAR

Hereby sharing tangy and tasty sambhar recipe .It is easy to make and tastes yum too.Hope you find it useful .




                                                



Ingredients

Pigeon chick peas/Arhar dal-1/2 cup
Tamarind-a lemon size (soaked in water for 20 minutes)
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Coconut-2 tbsp
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Whole red chillies-2
Curry leaves-few
Sambhar powder-2 tbsp
Oil-1 tsp
Turmeric-1/2 tsp
Asafoetida/hing-a pinch
Water-as required
Salt -to taste


 








In a vessel add half cup of lentils/arhar dal  to sufficient water so that it is fully soaked.Add chopped onions,tomatoes,turmeric and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles till the lentils are cooked properly.







As the dal is properly cooked along with onion and tomato now we shall add little tamarind water.
                                        




                                   Then we shall add 2 tbsp of sambhar powder.


Add salt to taste and let the sambhar boil.





We shall grind the grated  coconut with the help of water and add to the sambhar after it had boiled for five minutes.



Let the sambhar boil for five more minutes.



Now we shall ready for tempering .



   Take 1 tsp oil and add a pinch of asafoetida,mustard seeds,red chillies,curry leaves  and when all crackles we shall  pour into sambhar.



Sambhar is ready to  be served hot  with  idli,vada,dosa or rice.

Angoori Rasmalai/Chena Payesh (Paneer balls dipped in creamy milk)           Today I will sharing the recipe of 'Angoori Rasmalai /Chena payash.' Its one of the famous Indian sweet served chilled.
