Onion Pakoras

ONION PAKORAS With the advent of rainy season one of the most sought out snacks is pakoras.So, today sharing an evergreen recipe of crispy onion pakoras. INGREDIENTS BESAN/GRAM FLOUR-1 cup Onions-2 big Green chillies-1 Red chilli powder-2 tsp(according to taste) Turmeric-1 tsp Salt-as per taste Curry leaves/Coriander leaves Ajwain/Carom seeds-1/2 tsp Water-as needed Oil-as required Recipe : In a bowl take 1 cup besan. In it add red chilli powder, turmeric,salt, ajwain.Mix well. Add chopped or sliced onions and green chillies.You can avoid chillies if making for children. Add very little water and make a batter of thick consistency. Heat oil.  Take small portions in palm and deep fry in oil in medium heat.Turn sides and cook pakoras till brown and crisp. Serve hot with chutney of your choice or simply tomato sauce. Do try this recipe in your kitchen. Vegetable Cutlet / Vegetable Chop                                                   One of the famous street food in eastern part of India like Kolkatta , Jharkhand Vegetable cutlet or vegetable chop  is made with carrots,beetroot and potatoes.The cutlets getting the red hue because of the strong beetroot colour.In some cases the cutlets are rolled over egg batter but in my veg kitchen I rolled it in a batter prepared with maida and cornflour.Hope you will like it . MIRCHI BHAJJI/MIRCHI PAKORO Hello friends, During winter we get this bhajji /pakora /achar/pickle  making green chillies in market. I too bought some and made a quick evening snack for my family. In some method potato or paneer stuffing is used to make this pakoras but in this post I am posting simple and quick version of Mirchi bhajji that we generally get beside beaches.I remember eating such mirchi bhajjis during our tour to Kanyakumari  long back .Believe me along with the memories, the taste still renders in my mouth .Hope you like it.
