MOONG KI DAL

MOONG KI DAL / YELLOW SPLIT GRAM DAL






A staple diet in every household dal is made with different types of pulses.Today I will be sharing a  moong dal recipe.Its healthy,yummy and a complete comfort food when had with plain rice and potato fry .It will also taste good along with  chappatis,fried rice pulav etc.

INGREDIENTS

Yellow dal /Moong dal -1 cup
Onions-2
Tomatoes-2
Green chillies -2
Grated Garlic/Ginger-1 tsp
Asafoetida/hing-a pinch
Cumin seeds /Jeera -1 tsp
Curry leaves-few
Coriander powder-1tsp
Cumin powder-1 tsp
Chilli powder -1 tsp
Turmeric -2 tsp
Oil -1 tbsp
Ghee -1 tsp
Coriander leaves


                      STEP BY STEP PROCESS WITH PICTURES

Rinse one cup moong dal well.Pressure cook the dal with little turmeric and chopped tomatoes.






Now in a wok add little oil and saute chopped onions,green chillies and grated ginger garlic.

                               Add chilli powder,turmeric,coriander powder,cumin powder.



     Now the masala is cooked well.Add 1&1/2 cups water and let it boil.



                                    Once the water start boiling add boiled dal /lentil.

                                                              Add salt to taste.

                                    Add garam masala.Close the lid and cook for five minutes.


      Add coriander leaves.Check the consistency of dal if you want it thin otr thick.Switch off gas.


For tempering heat 1 tsp ghee.Add  hing and cumin seeds,curry leaves and 1 tsp red chilli powder.You can also add 1 dry whole red chilly.




                                                       

                                                            Moong dal tadka is ready .

 Kaccha Gola (Paneer sweet balls)       Hi all, Today sharing a recipe of sweet paneer balls also called kacha golas .A very easy recipe made with few ingredients and get ready quickly too. Sweet Pongal

SHAKKARPONGAL / SWEET PONGAL Good day friends , I prepared Shakkarapongal / sweet pongal.A South Indian delicious sweet dish most importantly prepared during Pongal.Its also prepared as prasadam /prasad on special occasions at every South Indian homes and temples.It is one of my most favourite dish.I even don't mind standing in queue to get sweet pongal as prasadam in temples.
