MOONG DAL LADDOO / PARAPPU LADDOO


                                    

Today sharing a traditional South Indian recipe of Moong Dal Laddoo /Paithparappu Laddoo.Its easy recipe which can be easily made under one hour and can be stored for some days too.You can even pack as snack for children in their lunch box or serve as after school snack.Lets get started.

INGREDIENTS
MOONG DAL /PAITHPARAPPU -1 STEEL GLASS
SUGAR -1 STEEL GLASS (You can take more if you want the laddoos to be more sweeter).
CARDAMON- 2-3
CASHEWS AND RAISINS - A HANDFUL
CLARIFIED BUTTER /GHEE -5-6 TBSP (AS NEEDED)

PREPARATION TIME :15 MIN
TOTAL TIME TAKE : 45 MIN


STEP BY STEP PROCESS
                                            

Take one steel glass Moong Dal /Split green gram and dry roast in a wok for 5-8 min.The gas flame must be kept in low flame .It must be stirred continuously for even roasting.

                                         
                                     

                                         




  Now we shall take equal measurement of sugar and three cardamons and grind in blender to a fine powder.If you want your laddoos to be more sweeter you can take 1 and half cups of sugar.


                                           


                                     




                                         Now we shall grind the roasted dal to fine powder too.



We must sieve the grinded dal to get fine texture of laddoos.Its optional step but I would certainly recommend it.

Mix the powdered dal and sugar.

                                             
                                           
                      Now heat 1 tbsp of ghee /clarified butter and roast cashews and raisins.
                                          
                                         


                                       




                     Mix them with the sugar and dal mixture.Divide this mixture into two portions.


                           Now heat 4-5 tbsp of ghee in kadai /wok .

                                        Add them to one portion of mixture.

                                       
                                         

                           
     Mix well with spoon first and then with hands.Prepare laddoos when the mixture is warm.




                     Yummy laddoos are ready .Store in airtight containers or steel utensils and enjoy .There is nothing in it to be spoilt so you can store them for more than 15 days.It is always better to prepare in small batches for freshness.


                              In this measurement I got more than 20 small laddoos .

ASPARAGUS BEANS/BARBATTI SABZI /PORIYAL Preparation Time-10 min Cooking Time -10 -15 min Ingredients Long beans/Asparagus beans/ Barbatti-250 g Dry red chillies-2 Mustard seeds-1 tsp White urad dal-1 tsp Turmeric-a pinch Hing-a pinch Salt-to taste Water-4 tbs Oil-2 tps Coconut-to garnish Process 1) Firstly wash and then finely chop the beans. 2) Heat oil in kadai .After it heats add mustard seeds ,urad dal,red chillies,hing.Saute for half a minute. 3) Add chopped  asparagus beans ,little water and mix well. 4) Add  salt to taste and cover it to cook in steam. 5) Cover the kadai to let the sabzi cook in steam. 6) Keep checking inbetween  to see that the veggies are soft and cooked . 7) Cook for few minutes till the water is soaked .Keep stirring in between. 8) Our sabzi is ready .We can garnish with coconut . 9) Asparagus beans /Barbatti is ready to be eaten with rice,sambar or with dal and roti
