KIDNEY BEANS BURGER

KIDNEY BEANS BURGER / RAJMA TIKKI  BURGER





Burger has emerged as kids favourite food.So this summer vacation make a burger which is healthy and filling for kids.The burger I am sharing today is prepared with kidney beans /rajma and potatoes as main ingredients.I have also shallow fried it for consumption of less oil.


INGREDIENTS

BOILED KIDNEY BEANS /RAJMA -1 CUP
BOILED POTATOES-5-6
GREEN CHILLIES -3
ONIONS-2
TOMATO-1
CHILLI POWDER -1 TSP
CORIANDER POWDER -1 TSP
CUMIN POWDER -1 TSP
BREAD CRUMBS -1 CUP
GARLIC -4
CHAAT MASALA -1 TSP
GARAM MASALA -1 TSP
OIL- 2 TBSP
BUTTER - AS NEEDED
MAYONAISSE - AS NEEDED
TOMATO SAUCE - AS NEEDED
CHEESE - AS NEEDED
SALT TO TASTE


 STEP BY STEP PROCESS WITH PICTURES



We shall boil kidney beans /rajma with little salt upto fiv to six whistles.Similarly we shall boil potatoes too.


 We shall run the boiled rajma and potatoes in mixie to crush them.Just one pulse in mixer is okay .Don't over run the mixie otherwise potatoes will become paste and we won't get desired result. 
Or 

You can also simply mash potatoes and rajma using hand tool.








                                      Now chop green chillies,1 onion and grate garlic.

Heat 1 tbsp oil and saute garlic,onion and green chillies.



  Add 2 tsp of chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder and little salt and saute for few minutes.


 Add a tsp of chaat masala and garam masala.



Once the spices are cooked add kidney beans and potatoes mixture. Add salt to taste.Mix well and switch off gas.



After the mixture cools make small patties out of them.


                                                          
Roll them on bread crumbs.


 Patties are ready to be deep fried or shallow fry. In a pan add 1 tbsp oil and shallow fry patties till cooked golden brown both sides.




     Crisp patties are ready.


  Now toast bread in pan with little butter.



Now apply little mayonaisse and tomato sauce on toasted bun    
             
                                    
  Place patty on one side of bun.Place onion and tomato slice on it.

  Add some grated cheese.





          Kidney beans /Rajma burger ready.
You can place a slice of tomato and onion on top of burger with a tooth pick to attract kids.



 Kidney beans burger is ready.
Serve with tomato sauce.

ASPARAGUS BEANS/BARBATTI SABZI /PORIYAL Preparation Time-10 min Cooking Time -10 -15 min Ingredients Long beans/Asparagus beans/ Barbatti-250 g Dry red chillies-2 Mustard seeds-1 tsp White urad dal-1 tsp Turmeric-a pinch Hing-a pinch Salt-to taste Water-4 tbs Oil-2 tps Coconut-to garnish Process 1) Firstly wash and then finely chop the beans. 2) Heat oil in kadai .After it heats add mustard seeds ,urad dal,red chillies,hing.Saute for half a minute. 3) Add chopped  asparagus beans ,little water and mix well. 4) Add  salt to taste and cover it to cook in steam. 5) Cover the kadai to let the sabzi cook in steam. 6) Keep checking inbetween  to see that the veggies are soft and cooked . 7) Cook for few minutes till the water is soaked .Keep stirring in between. 8) Our sabzi is ready .We can garnish with coconut . 9) Asparagus beans /Barbatti is ready to be eaten with rice,sambar or with dal and roti
