Fresh cream -1 -2 tbsp

Whole spices

Oil -3 tbsp

Water as required

Step by Step Instructions

Cut the tofu in small pieces and soak them in water to make them soft.Later it will absorb all flavour of gravy and the masalas(spices).

In a pan add 1 tbsp oil.Add 2 small chopped onions,1 big tomato,4-5 garlic cloves,a small piece of ginger,2-3 green chillies. Saute for some minutes.

Once the veggies are cooled grind them to a fine paste with the help of blender .

In the same pan add 1 tbsp oil.Add 1 tsp jeera (cumin seeds),2-3 cloves,1 small piece of cinnamon,1 bay leaf,1-2 green cardamon.Saute for a minute.

Add ready grinded paste to oil and cook for sometime.

Once the masala is cooked well add curd mixture.

Close the lid and cook for sometime.

Once the spices and masalas are cooked well add 1 cup frozen peas or boiled peas.

Add water and let it cook for five minutes.Add tofu to the gravy and cook for four to five minutes.Sprinkle 1 tsp garam masala .Check the consistency of gravy by adding more water if required.

Add 1-2 tbsp fresh cream and cook for 2-3 minutes more.

Tofu Masala is ready .You can add fresh coriander leaves too. Serve hot with chappatis, parathas or rice.
