AALOO GOBI SABJI

AALOO GOBI SABJI / POTATO CAULIFLOWER SABJI Hello friends, Welcome to Sudha's Kitchen!! Today I am sharing a recipe of potato and cauliflower sabji  .It is a no onion ,no garlic recipe for special days.I have used minimum spices too.Its a simple dish but tastes very good particularly during winters when we get fresh cauliflower .Hope you will like it. INGREDIENTS POTATOES-4 CAULIFLOWER - 1 SMALL(CUT INTO SMALL PIECES) TOMATOES - 2 CUMIN SEEDS / JEERA - 1 TSP OIL - 1 TBSP TURMERIC /HALDI -1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER - 1 TSP SALT - TO TASTE CORIANDER LEAVES - FISTFUL PREPARTION TIME -1O MIN COOKING TIME -15 MIN SERVES -4 METHOD Chop potatoes , cauliflower and tomatoes. Heat a kadai/wok.Add cumin seeds/jeera and let it crackle. Then one by one add potatoes and cauliflower . Add spices like turmeric powder,chilli powder and salt.Mix well. Add tomatoes and mix well . TIRANGA HALWA / TRICOLOUR HALWA

TIRANGA HALWA Dear friends, India is celebrating Republic day.A spirit of nationalism from our side.I made Tiranga halwa /Tricolour halwa to mark this occasion.Hope you like it. Ingredients SEMOLINA /SOOJI /RAVA - 1 SMALL GLASS SUGAR - 1 SMALL GLASS WATER - AS REQUIRED COLOURS -GREEN AND ORANGE CARDAMON -1 GHEE / CLARIFIED BUTTER - 5-6 TBSP PROCESS Heat ghee in a kadai. Roast semolina in ghee.                                                    Heat 2 cups  water in  kadai. Add sugar to it . When the water starts boiling add roasted semolina /sooji.                                        The water has dissolved .Add little ghee and mix well. Sooji halwa is ready. PAPAYA KOOTU / PAPAYA GRAVY IN COCONUT

RAW PAPAYA KOOTU / CURRY Hi friends, Once again a South Indian dish as accompaniment for rice,It is made of raw papaya ,chana dal in coconut  gravy .Its a simple dish with health benefits. Hope you like it. PREPARATION TIME - 10 MIN COOKING TIME -20-25 MIN SERVES-4 INGREDIENTS RAW PAPAYA - 1/2 CHANA DAL / SPLIT BENGAL GRAM - 3/4 BOWL COCONUT - 1/2 CUP ( 4-5 TBSP) CUMIN SEEDS / JEERA -   2 TSP RED CHILLIES -2-3 BLACK SPLIT GRAM / URAD DAL -1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS / SARSON - 1 TSP ASOFOETIDA/HING - A PINCH PROCEDURE -:                                      Peel skin of papaya and chop into medium sized  pieces .    Take chana dal /Bengal gram in a vessel .Rinse well .Add some water ,tomatoes,turmeric and pressure cook to four to five whistles.                                                      Now the dal and papaya is cooked well.
