Many times we have few  left over idlis from yesterday's dinner or from morning breakfast.Eating the same idlis with chutney or sambhar  sometimes becomes boring.So we can try making idli upma or idli fry to make it interesting.The good news is it can made easily in less time .You can pack this upma in your kids' school lunch boxes too.So today sharing the easy method of making ''Idli Upma''.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Leftover idlis -4-6
Onions-2
Tomato-1
Green Chilies-2-3
Ginger -a small piece
Mustard seeds- 1tsp
Bengal gram -1 tsp
Black split gram -1 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Turmeric -1 tsp
Sambhar Powder-2 tsp
Chilli Powder-1 tsp (optional)
Salt to taste


     STEP BY STEP METHOD WITH PICTURES

     We shall chop the onions,green chillies and tomato to small pieces.Grate the ginger.


              We shall chop the leftover idlis to small pieces.
              If you want you can also mash the idlis but I prefer this way.





Now heat oil add mustard seeds(sarson),Bengal gram (chana dal),Black split gram(urad dal).
Once they splutter add green chillies ,ginger and curry leaves.




                                                Add sambhar powder,turmeric and chilli powder.


                Once the onions are cooked add chopped tomato.Close the lid to cook masala faster.


                       Once the masala is cooked add chopped idlis.Add salt to taste.Mix all together.


                              Add chopped coriander leaves and switch off gas.    

                                                              Idli upma is ready !!

 Kaccha Gola (Paneer sweet balls)       Hi all, Today sharing a recipe of sweet paneer balls also called kacha golas .A very easy recipe made with few ingredients and get ready quickly too. Sweet Pongal

SHAKKARPONGAL / SWEET PONGAL Good day friends , I prepared Shakkarapongal / sweet pongal.A South Indian delicious sweet dish most importantly prepared during Pongal.Its also prepared as prasadam /prasad on special occasions at every South Indian homes and temples.It is one of my most favourite dish.I even don't mind standing in queue to get sweet pongal as prasadam in temples. Ingredients-: Raw Rice - 1/2 cup Moong Dal dhuli / Pasiparappu - 4-5 tbsp Jaggery / Gud / Vellam - 1/2 cup  ( depends on sweetness you want) Cashews and raisins - around 10 Cardamon - 2 Ghee / Clarified butter - 1/4 cup  + 1 tbsp  Recipe -  Dry roast 4-5 tbsp moongDal  in a kadai / vessel.Wash and clean 1/2 cup rice.Mix Dal and rice ,add 2 cups water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.In another vessel take  1/2 cup jaggery and add little water.When the jaggery get dissolved strain the mixture.Again heat the jaggery syrup and add boiled rice and Dal mixture well.Add ...
