PURPLE CABBAGE PORIYAL








Hello friends!!
I saw a purple cabbage in departmental store and was surely excited and bought one.The purple cabbage has many health benefits too.I tried out a simple poriyal with purple cabbage .It tasted good.Hope you like it.


Preparation time : 10 min
Cooking time : 15 min


INGREDIENTS

Purple Cabbage  (medium sized ) -1
Green Chillies -2
Curry leaves pas needed
Salt -to taste
Turmeric -1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Black split gram /Urad dal - 1 tsp


Process


                      Wash the purple cabbage with water.Chop them into small pieces.






                      Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds and black split gram .(sarson and urad dal)



                    After the mustard seeds crackle add green chillies and curry leaves.
                    Saute for half a minute

       Add chopped cabbage .Add turmeric and salt .Mix well .Cover the kadai with a plate or lid and cook .The gas flame should be in sim throughout the cooking.



                                                             Keep stirring in between .


Now the cabbage is cooked well.Now we shall add scraped coconut .
Mix well and switch off the gas.




                                     Purple cabbage poriyal is ready to be served alonside rotis or rice.
