SWEET LOBIYA / KARAMANI SUNDAL

SWEET LOBIYA / SWEET BLACK EYED PEAS /VELLAM KARAMANI SUNDAL

                                                            




Once again a traditional Tamil Nadu speciality mostly prepared as offering to Goddess  dutring Navaratris .It is also distributed as prasadams during bhajans .It is healthy and tasty too.It can be prepared as evening snack for children too.


INGREDIENTS

BLACK EYED PEAS /LOBIYA/KARAMANI -1 SMALL GLASS
JAGGERY -1 SMALL GLASS
CARDAMON /ELAICHI -2-3
SCRAPED COCONUT -1 TBSP
WATER -AS REQUIRED

Serves -2-3 ppl
Preparation time :10 min
Cooking time -20-25 min

PROCESS


Rinse one small glass lobiya /black eyed peas in water .Add some water and then pressure cook  upto 3 to 4 whistles .





                                                    The black eyed peas are cooked now.




        Now take one small glass of  jaggery in a wok /kadai .Add little water to it.

Now the jaggery is dissolved well .Strain the impurities .






                                 Then re heat the strained jaggery syrup in wok .Let it boil
                                                 

Now add boiled black eyed peas /lobiya in the jaggery syrup.



                                        Cook till the jaggery syrup is absorbed well.


Now the jaggery syrup is absorbed well.Add crushed cardamon pods .
Also add coconut for taste.





             Sweet lobiya ,Vella karamani sundal ,sweet black eyed peas is ready.Serve it hot or after it comes to room temperature.

  CHOCOLATE MUFFINS  Good day all, After some time posting again .Today sharing recipe of chocolate muffins .I made this using normal flour this time and it came very good.Next time I will try making this using Whole-wheat flour. This recipe requires very few ingredients and can be made really fast too.
