SWEET COCONUT BALLS / SWEET BONDA



                                          


You can try this receipe as easy snack for evening .It does not take lots of planning.It can be made with few ingredients too.

INGREDIENTS

Scraped Coconut - 1 cup
Jaggery /Gud -1 cup
Gram flour /Besan -1/2 cup
Rice Flour -1/2 cup
Cardamon /Elaichi -2
Water -as needed
Salt-a pinch (optional)



A quick update of receipe-
In a wok we shall dissolve 1 cup jaggery in little water .Filter it for impurities and reheat .Once the syrup comes to boil we shall add 1 cup scraped coconut.Cook it for five minutes then add 1 cup boiled  chana dal .Cook for five more minutes till the mixture becomes little dry.Make round balls with mixture once it cools.Prepare a batter with 1/2 cup besan,1/2 cup rice flour and a pinch of salt and water.Dip the coconut balls in batter and deep fry in oil.Sweet coconut balls ready.



STEP BY STEP PROCESS WITH PICTURES

                    We  shall boil 1 cup chana dal and scrape 1 cup coconut.





Now in a wok we shall take heat 1 cup jaggery with little water.Soon the jaggery will fully dissolve.We shall filter jaggery syrup for impurities .




We shall take the filtered jaggery syrup in wok and bring to boil.Then add coconut.


Once coconut gets cooked we shall add boiled chana dal and cook till the mixture becomes little dry.


Lastly we shall add crushed cardamon.



                                       After the mixture cools we shall make round balls.



Now we shall prepare a batter with half cup besan and half cup rice flour.




                                                     Add a pinch of salt .Its optional.


         Prepare a batter by adding water little by little.The batter must be nor very thin nor very thick.


Now dip every coconut balls into the batter and deep fry in oil.










                                 Serve it hot or cold.You generally would not need any side dish for this.

Sweet Pongal

SHAKKARPONGAL / SWEET PONGAL Good day friends , I prepared Shakkarapongal / sweet pongal.A South Indian delicious sweet dish most importantly prepared during Pongal.Its also prepared as prasadam /prasad on special occasions at every South Indian homes and temples.It is one of my most favourite dish.I even don't mind standing in queue to get sweet pongal as prasadam in temples.
